Live Music on the Patio

Get ready for some good ol’ fashioned toe-tappin’ and pickin’ this fall! Music lovers are encouraged to join us for some select dates of local bluegrass musicians and bands, performing live on the patio. All shows are free to attend.

Sandy Tar Brothers
Friday, September 7

The Sandy Tar Brothers are Sean Fen and Jake Loew. They are step brothers who love bluegrass and are inspired by great musicians such as Don Stover, Reno and Smiley, Flatt and Scruggs, The Hutchison Brothers, Carter and Ralph Stanley, The Skillet Lickers and many more. They have toured internationally as well as around the country with different bluegrass groups. They now play mostly in the Midwest for Square Dances, Contra dances, festivals and other bluegrass and old-time music related events.

For their performance with us at the Ten Pin Alley they will be joined by Mr. Dan Cade who was the fiddler for Dave Evans and is an accomplished bluegrass fiddler. It should be an evening of great music brought to you by a staple of the Columbus, OH bluegrass community.

High Water Drifters
Friday, September 21

What happens when three Ohio acoustic musicians assemble a band to perform original and traditional roots music?  Well, people dance, clap, and sing, a lot. This is the basis for High Water Drifters. High Water Drifters effortlessly jam original and traditional tunes with all manner of banjos, washboards, mandolins, guitars, upright bass, and a stomp box.

Multi-instrumentalist, Mark Fitzharris leads the group with his earthy vocals and haunting lyrics.  Throughout the performances, Mark switches between banjo, mandolin, and guitar to punctuate his originals and new interpretations of traditional music.  Mark is joined by Scott Maruskin on the upright bass and vocals.  Scott has a long history of playing with regional and national bands.  Steve Frye rounds out the ensemble, keeping toes tapping and hands clapping with his unique washboard and stomp stylings.

Fox n Hounds
Friday, October 5

Picture a traditional bluegrass ensemble pickin’ away in the moonlight. Instead of boys from the mountains of Virginia, picture a band of gypsies from all walks of musical life. Fox N Hounds keeps the laments and ballad’s of Bluegrass music, but also brings a lively addition. It’s Bluegrass music of the now. Songs from the hills and from the city– full of excitement and adventure, love and despair, and even unhealthy appetites. Fox N Hounds has spread its sound across Central Ohio to the ears of listeners eager for a new twist to bluegrass music.
